Tucked away upstairs in the Embers complex you will find The Chophouse. The comfortable booths, rich, dark woods, and colorful Art Deco reproductions create an atmosphere that is elegantly casual. The new executive chef, a Johnson and Wales graduate, has called on his culinary expertise to create the perfect seasoning for the generous cuts of aged beef featured. Inventive seafood entrees, as well as traditional ones like the scrumptious Maryland lump crab cakes complete the menu. A well-chosen wine list and creative desserts all presented by top-notch attentive servers round out the exceptional fine dining experience.

In the late 1950’s, Sam Taustin and his brother Irving started a little restaurant on 9th Street and the Boardwalk called The Embers. They moved to 23rd Street and Coastal Hwy just a few years later and carved their niche as one of the most respected restaurants in Ocean City. Nearly 50 years later, that same restaurant, still family owned and operated by the next 2 generations, continues to serve the finest steaks and seafood both from their now famous Prime Rib and Seafood buffet and in the entrees from the Embers and Chophouse menus. Sam’s goal for the restaurant was to serve the best food and give the most attentive service to every customer who walked in the door, and that continues to be the mission of the family today.
